Jump ToC Rankings (Issue 26, 2013)

The third new series is the baseball manga Smoky B.B., which seems to have an extremely smug protagonist. There are several other things in this issue that overshadow this, however.

An international one-shot competition has been announced! Details will be available on the official website once this issue officially hits the shelves (which is on the 27th, for those curious), and anyone can enter online so long as their one-shot’s page count is exactly 15, 19, 31 or 45 and is in Japanese, English or Chinese. The best manga of each language will receive 500,000 yen, with the best overall entry receiving an additional 500,000 to total 1,000,000 yen. Said winners will also be published in the American, Japanese, Chinese and Hong Kong versions of the magazine (though the Japanese magazine may instead run the winner in one of its myriad spin-off or sister magazines like Jump NEXT!).

Nisekoi: False Love will be announcing “big news” this issue. This and the website are indicative of an anime announcement being the “big news”. For the purposes of checking if this is likely, someone has compiled a list of manga in Jump and what chapter they were on when they had anime adaptations announced for the first time, as well as whether or not they got a colour page to announce it. It’s not a complete list, but here it is:
